Look What
They're Saying About Us!
We recently began
looking into electric fences because our Beagle mix
was continuously getting out. The first estimate we got was
from Dogwatch's main competitor. Unfortunately it was not a
good experience. I felt pressured by the representative's
sales tricks/manipulation. He did not seem credible or
straightforward. I kept having the feeling that he would have
taken a very different approach if my husband was present.
I dreaded calling another company because I did not want to
endure another pushy sales pitch. But we needed a solution.
So I called Dogwatch and spoke to Chris. I was very up front
about my need for the facts in the least amount of time
possible. Chris was sensitive to my directness over the phone
and so I decided to schedule an appointment for the following
day.
He came out and was willing to spend as little or as much time
as I wanted discussing the system. It was an informative
conversation in an educational format. No gimmicks. I
appreciated his kind manner and I knew I was dealing with
someone with integrity.
Furthermore, the product had features that we liked better
(long life waterproof battery that we can purchase from a
retail store and the fact that we can adjust levels
ourselves). The installation went well and we were pleased
with the training by Evan.

BO
Hi, my name is Robert Kennedy. I have lived in Crystal River
for thirty-eight years and I would like to introduce “Bo” to
you.
Bo is a handsome, full grown, four year old Weimaraner owned
by my son Alan. Bo is a great family dog and he loves being
around people. I call him a “velcro dog” because he likes to
stick close to family members. If my wife is sitting down Bo
will lie down near her and go to sleep with his paw touching
her foot.
However, Bo was a sad dog. On weekdays Bo had to spend time by
himself while Alan worked. Alan tried leaving Bo inside his
house while he was gone, but Bo spent the day chewing on much
of the stuff in the house.
The next day Bo was left in the two car garage. He spent the
day trying to get out and chewing on most of the stuff in the
garage. Alan bought a cage kennel and left Bo in the cage
inside the garage. Bo had nine hours to attack the cage and
finally opened a hole big enough to get out and chew on the
stuff in the garage that he missed the day before. He mangled
the kitchen door knob.
Alan had a twelve foot by twenty five foot kennel with six
foot high chain length fencing that he previously used to
contain other dogs. Alan put Bo inside this kennel and went
back inside the house. Several minutes later Bo was scratching
on the back door wanting to get into the house. It turns out
that Bo just climbed over the fence.
Earlier Bo had spent two days with me. I have a two-story
house and I kept Bo in the lower floor. He barked a lot. I
mean a “LOT”. He pushed out an awning type glass window by
bending the aluminum frame and made a hole big enough to crawl
out. When I returned him to the lower floor and left him, he
beat me back upstairs by tearing a hole in the screen door.
I took Bo back downstairs, boarded up the lower half of the
screen door, and said to Bo, “Now, just try to get out
again”. Bo tore a hole in the top half of the screen door and
beat me back upstairs.
I have a walkway all the way around the second story of my
house and a large deck in the back with forty-two inch high
railings all the way around. I boarded up the entrances to the
second floor and I was sure that Bo would not escape again
because the only way out was to jump over the railing. The top
of the railing was eleven feet from the ground at the nearest
point.
Guess what? Bo jumped. Fortunately he was not hurt, and he
never tried jumping again.
A year earlier, Alan had bought an electronic fence at a store
in Leesburg and installed it himself. He trained Bo to know
where he would get corrected if he went too close to the edge
of the property. Bo learned well. He would line up
perpendicular to the line of flags, and take off as fast as he
could run, straight through the correction zone and with one
yelp he was gone.
Bo was returned several times by neighbors and three times had
to be bailed out from the dog pound.
Alan needed to be away one weekend and he left Bo at a
business that boarded pets. When Alan returned to pick up Bo
he was handed a bill for boarding, and for damages to the
kennel, and was told that Bo would not be allowed to return.
Ever!
Alan loves Bo and decided to give him one more chance before
looking for a good home with someone who was home most of the
time. Alan constructed an eight foot by ten foot kennel, with
a six foot high chain length fence, and a concrete floor. The
kennel had a roof made of a strong rubberized tarp to keep the
rain out and the dog in.
Was that successful? No! Bo would climb the fence and work
his head under the tarp and climb out. Alan then had the roof
of the kennel covered with chain link fencing. Now you would
think that would be the end of the story. Right? Nope!
Bo was able to tear off the aluminum wire ties that anchored
the chain length fence to the bottom rail, push his head
through the hole he made and travel at least half a mile,
cross Highway 495 and fortunately was picked up by animal
control. Being picked up probably saved him from being hit by
a car.
After more work the kennel was completely secured and Bo could
not get out no matter how hard he tried. So now you would
think everyone was happy. No, not true.
Bo was not happy because he was penned up all day. The
neighbors were not happy because Bo barked at anything he
heard or anything he saw or just to tell the world he was
unhappy.
My new neighbor, Chris Dolan, is the owner of an Ocala based
franchise for DogWatch Hidden Fence Systems. I told Chris
that Alan needed an electronic fence that would contain Bo.
Chris said that he could contain any dog using his DogWatch
system if the owner followed his instructions. Chris said that
he had safely contained over three thousand dogs during his
nine years with DogWatch.
I told Chris all about Bo’s many escapes and Chris said, “My
business is containing dogs and I know how to contain all
kinds of dogs, big ones or little ones, from German shepherds
to miniature poodles.
I told Alan that Chris said he could contain any dog and that
I think we ought to give Bo the chance to roam the yard rather
than be penned for hours in the kennel. After some thought,
Alan said, “Ok, let’s give it a try."
Today is April 1, 2008. On March 1, 2008, Chris installed a
DogWatch Hidden Fence System around the perimeter of the one
acre lot where Alan and Bo live. I am pleased to report that
Bo is now a happy dog. He roams his front, back, and side
yards wearing his Dogwatch collar, keeping within his
boundaries and never tries to escape. Bo is a happy dog and
Alan is a happy owner.
After my experience with Bo I am convinced that Chris can
safely contain any dog using the DogWatch Hidden Fence System.
I was so impressed with the quality of the Dogwatch system
that I asked Chris if I could be involved in his Dogwatch
business by telling people the story of Bo.
I hope you enjoyed reading this narrative and that you will
contact me or Chris for more information.

"I just wanted to tell you again how pleased my family is with
the DogWatch® indoor system you installed in our home for our
Saint Bernards. It truly amazed me that my puppies learned
"the ropes" in less than a day with the training and the
techniques. It's such a better life for all of us not to yell
at the dogs when they chase the cat in the formal living room,
or eat all of her food in the laundry room in a split second.
We no longer have any worries as to where the dogs are at any
given moment - they are always where they are supposed to be.
AND best of all - the baby gates are now stored in the closet
- baby gates are a huge hassle and can never be a sensible
solution to keeping dogs contained inside a house. Anyway, I
just wanted to again tell you that we are just thrilled with
the system, and will highly recommend it to anyone with inside
dogs. It was well worth the price, without question. Thanks
very much."

"After loads of research we decided on the DogWatch® Hidden
Fence System to make our lives easier and to give our dogs
more space to play. We never thought it would work so easily,
but were pleasantly surprised even after a couple of days.
With the personal care Chris and Melisha give their clients we
will recommend them highly to all our neighbors."
-David & Angela Loftus

"Murry is doing great we have had no problems at all. He
tested it once and has no longer tried. This system has saved
us a lot of trouble. No more gates. Thanks for all your help."
